Admission Requirements for Concordia University’s Accelerated BSN

Fall 2020 Cohort Accelerated BSN Admissions Requirements

Students seeking admission to our ABSN may be considered for admission provided they have fulfilled the minimum criteria below:

  • Complete or provide verification of work in progress for general education requirements.
  • Hold a cumulative college GPA of 3.00 with a cumulative math and science GPA of 3.00.
  • Complete the Kaplan Admission Test.
  • Provide proof of CNA course completion* (license not required) .
  • Clear a criminal background check prior to admission to the nursing cohort.

Concordia University only accepts credit from regionally accredited institutions. All science prerequisites must be current within seven years from the date of application. All math prerequisites must be current within 10 years. General education requirements transferred from another institution do not expire.

*All students are required to complete a state-approved CNA training prior to the orientation to the nursing program. All students will be required to submit proof (certificate of completion) at the nursing orientation. The CNA training must meet the Oregon State Board of Nursing’s CNA instruction standards (80 classroom hours and 75 clinical hours).

Spring 2021 Cohort Accelerated BSN Admissions Requirements

Students seeking admission to our ABSN program for the Spring 2021 cohort may be considered for admission provided they have fulfilled the minimum criteria below:

  • Students must have completed 60* credits before enrolling in the nursing program.
  • Provide official transcripts verifying you hold a non-nursing baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited institution or have completed the general education and prerequisite courses.
  • Hold a cumulative college GPA of 3.00 with a cumulative math and science GPA of 3.00.
  • Complete the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam with a minimum score of 65% within the last 2 years.
  • Demonstrate English language proficiency (applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency via examination if English is not their native language).
  • Clear a criminal background check prior to admission to the nursing cohort.

*If a student takes the co-requisite coursework during the nursing program, they can complete fewer than 62 credits before beginning the nursing program. All students are required to complete 120 total credits to earn a bachelor’s degree from CSP.
