ABSN Program Admissions Overview

Designed for career changers and current students alike, with locations in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Portland, Oregon, CSP Global’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program allows students with 54 college credits or a non-nursing associate or bachelor’s degrees the opportunity to earn a BSN in 16 months. The ABSN program admissions process takes less time with our three yearly starts — in January, May and September — meaning you can start much sooner than with a traditional program.

Program Admissions Requirements

Students who are seeking to apply to our ABSN program will need to meet a number of admissions criteria, which include:

  • Completion of a set number of non-nursing college credits
  • Meeting GPA Requirements
  • Successful completion of the TEAS exam
  • Completion of prerequisite courses

An admissions counselor will be able to help you examine these requirements and review your academic record in more detail.

ABSN Admissions FAQs

Before deciding if the CSP ABSN is right for you, it’s important to research and clarify any questions. Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions we get about ABSN program admissions.

Is it possible to work while participating in this accelerated BSN program?

The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program located in both St. Paul, Minnesota, and Portland, Oregon, follows a rigorous, full-time format that could easily be considered a job in itself. We typically recommend that our students allow themselves the opportunity to focus on their ABSN education full-time.

What type of student excels in an ABSN program format?

Because our ABSN program options in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Portland, Oregon, are fast-paced, the students who tend to be the most successful in this type of learning environment are dedicated, self-motivated, organized and eager to learn. They anticipate the stress that is going to be involved and are not afraid to lean on their fellow students and faculty for support and encouragement.

Are there any financial aid options available for accelerated nursing students?

Our financial aid advisors can provide you with information regarding the funding options available for student tuition. Our staff is also happy to assist you in the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, which is the first step in determining your personal financial aid eligibility. Once your FAFSA is received, they can provide you with detailed information about your financial aid eligibility and any remaining steps.
